High performance garment finishing agents
- Germanium -

∇Ceramond Ge-32T

Ceramond Ge-32T is a finishing agent composed of germanium.

Germanium (symbol: Ge; atomic no.: 32) is widely found in nature, never in the form of pure ore but mixed with other substances (it is never found naturally in a concentrated form. The amount found in the earth’s crust is 1.5ppm, always yielded as a content of sulfide ores, such as zinc, copper and tin, or coal).

Germanium is a semiconducting metalloid, which falls halfway between metals and nonmetals (non- radioactive).

As indicated in Fig.-1, when heat (over 32°C) is applied to it, one negatively-charged electron out of a total of 32 electrons breaks out. This promotes ionic equilibrium in the body (germanium produces positive effects as the body is also electrically charged) and is said to ease physical discomfort, activate bioelectric current and promote effects expected from massage or a dip in a hot spring. Whether such germanium functions (thermal, antibacterial/deodorant effects and the generation of anions etc.) take effect on fiber is currently under investigation.

The following are Ceramond Ge-32T’s description, features and method of use.

Germanium has 32 electrons. Of these, 4 electrons move along the outermost orbital at random, and a negatively-charged one breaks out when 32°C or above thermal stimulation is applied. This transfer of an electron puts right conditions of electric potentials within the body.

2. Method of use

The pad/dry method is used to ensure 2-3% o.w.f. adhesion to substrates.

<Example of use>

(Substrate: cotton knit, polyester tropical)

Ceramond Ge-32T 2.5% solution
Bintex A-500R 3.0% solution
Catalyst Super 0.5% solution
Stabilen Silicon 21 3.0% solution

Pick-up (100%)→Drying→Curing (150°C x 2min)

3. Packaging

17kg can

4. Directions for use

- Check compatibility with other chemicals before use.
- Check shade alterations before use as the agent has a slightly dark tint.
- Although the agent itself has its own odor, it does not stay in the finished product.
- Note that any written claims for effects on the body may infringe the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law.
