Highly effective and concentrated scouring agent

Tripon AC-28

Performance Evaluation

1. Scouring test

Test conditions

  • Substrate: Cotton gray knit, polyester gray taffeta
  • Treatment:
  • Scouring agent : See below
    NaOH (flakes) : 2g/L
    Liquor ratio : 1:20
    Temperature & Time : 95°C x 60min
    →Warm rinsing (60°C) →Cold rinsing →Drying (80°C x 15min)

Evaluation items and methods

  • Scouring properties (rewetting)
  • The lower end of a 2cm x 15cm piece of scoured cloth was placed in blue-black ink and after two minutes the height to which the ink had climbed was examined.
The higher the value, the better the rewetting properties and thus the more effective the scouring.

  • Drip method
  • One drop of water was applied to scoured cloth and the time taken for it to penetrate was examined. The lower the value, the higher the water absorbency.

2. Test on wax emulsification and removal and prevention of redeposition

Test conditions

  • Substrate: Cotton gray knit
  • Treatment:
  • Scouring agen : See below
    NaOH (flakes) : 2g/L
    Liquor ratio : 1:20
    Temperature & Time : 95°C×60分
    →Warm rinsing (60°C) →Cold rinsing →Drying (80°C x 15min)

Evaluation

  • Wax emulsification and removal
  • After rinsing, the substrate was colored according to the following conditions and then examined for wax residue. The less wax residue, the higher the effect of emulsification and removal. Coloring conditions: Sudan IV oil soluble suspension (lipophilic colorant) Liquor ratio 1:75

  • Prevention of redeposition
  • After residual solution was filtered through No.5A black filter paper, the residue on the filter paper was examined to determine wax emulsification properties. The smaller the amount of residue, the higher the effect of wax emulsification and thus the agent’s ability to prevent redeposition.

3. Penetration test

Test conditions

Pieces of cotton gray knit and polyester gray taffeta measuring 1cm x 1cm were carefully placed on the prepared solution and the time required for them to become completely wet was examined. The shorter the time, the better the penetration.

Preparation of test solution

    1. Used alone

    Scouring agent See below

    2. Used in combination

    Scouring agent See below
    NaOH (flakes) 2g/L

4. Foaming property test

Test method

    <Nitrogen gas method>

  • Foaming
  • A 400mL test solution was prepared in a 1L beaker, into which 500mL/min of nitrogen gas was infused through a No.2 glass filter from the bottom of the beaker while the temperature was maintained as predetermined. The height of foam was examined after 5 minutes.

  • Defoaming
  • Infusion of nitrogen gas was discontinued after 5 minutes. The solution was then left for 2 minutes before the height of the foam was examined.
