- Scum is often produced because of inadequate rinsing between the dyeing and fixing stages in the dyeing of nylon, with leveling agent remaining as residue and even forming a complex with the fixing agent, depending on the kind.
- Scum production is potently prevented by the addition of this agent to the fixing bath.
- A double-concentrated type (conc.) is also available.
