Treatment conditions

To achieve complete decoloration, it is recommended that oxidative decoloration be conducted after reductive decoloration

Reductive decoloration
Kayadecolor KP-H 6g/L (alkaline agent)
Kayadecolor KP-CY 5g/L (decoloration agent)
Kayadecolor KP-LV 2g/L (dispersing agent)
Kayadecolor KP-CH 1g/L (chelating agent)
Hydrosulfite 5-10g/L
Liquor ratio 1:30~50
Treatment temperature and time: 135 x 40min

Oxidative decoloration
Kayadecolor KP-SP 5g/L (decoloration agent)
Oxalic acid 3g/L
Liquor ratio 1:30~50
Treatment temperature and time: 100 x 30min

Note: This recipe aims for complete decoloration. Even decoloration can be achieved without carrier spots if the indicated auxiliaries (5 items) are used. In addition, specks can be removed and staining of the pot/machine avoided while the treated cloth itself will not be weakened. The use of hydrosulfite is very important since the use of thiourea dioxide due to the high temperature will reduce the effectiveness by half. Oxidative decoloration is effective when conducted after reductive decoloration and is not effective when conducted alone.

2-1-1. Kayadecolor KP-H

Characteristics
Alkali agents for decoloration

Kayadecolor is an auxiliary for the decoloration of polyester and CDP dyed with disperse or cationic dyestuffs. It combines the function of pH control with a disperse effect.
Since this agent combines the function of pH control with a disperse effect, it can be used to simplify the decoloration process.
This agent is suitable for decoloration in high pressure treatments, displaying excellent results.
Since this agent is in powdered form, it is easy to handle.

Quality specifications
The quality specifications for Kayadecolor KP-H are shown in the table below.

Kayadecolor KP-H: Quality specifications

1.Appearance White powder
2. pH Approx. 11 (1% aqueous solution)
3. Solubility Dissolves readily in warm water
4. Packaging 20kg cardboard case
5. Handling Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wear suitable protective equipment during operations.

2-1-2. Kayadecolor KP-CY

Characteristics
Decoloration auxiliaries

Kayadecolor KP-CY is an auxiliary for the decoloration of polyester and CDP dyed with disperse or cationic dyestuffs, effectively releasing dyestuff that is diffused inside dyed fibers.
Good heat-resistant stability to emulsification.
Does not affect the colorfastness of dyed cloth.
Suppresses the production of odors and smoke during the final setting.
Warm water must be used during dilution.

Quality specifications
The quality specifications for Kayadecolor KP-CY are shown in the table below.

2-1-4. Kayadecolor KP-CH

Characteristics
Agent for dispersion and prevention of scum during decoloration

Kayadecolor KP-CH prevents the formation of scum during the decoloration of polyester and CDP dyed with disperse or cationic dyestuffs. This agent is capable of producing a good hand while evenly decoloring the treated material.

Quality specifications
The quality specifications for Kayadecolor KP-CH are shown in the table below.

2-1-5. Kayadecolor KP-SP

Characteristics
Auxiliary for oxidative decoloration

Kayadecolor KP-SP is an auxiliary for the decoloration of polyester and CDP dyed with cationic or disperse dyestuffs, effectively releasing dyestuff that is diffused inside dyed fibers.
Can achieve a high level of whiteness.
Prevents corrosion of machinery.
Practically no production of chlorine gas, and thus easily used in operations.
Does not weaken the cloth.

2-1-6. Colorfastness to light of redyed cloth after decoloration

Problems with colorfastness to light do not exist for redyed cloth. However, since there is a tendency towards inferior colorfastness to light if decoloration is not conducted thoroughly, it is recommended that oxidative decoloration be conducted after reductive decoloration.

The colorfastness to light of dyed polyester that is redyed after decoloration is shown in the following figure.
