KAYACION E-CM reactive dye series for automated dip dyeing of cotton
Countermeasure to change of liquor ratio

The dyeing liquor ratio must be considered when dyehouses have to meet dyeing requirements of small lots, various kinds of material and blended fabrics. This problem has to be overcome for reactive dyes which are highly influenced by the liquor ratio.

Adjustment is necessary to obtain the same shade when dyeing with different liquor ratios, i.e. deciding the coefficient of the liquor ratio.

However dyes with different liquor ratio dependencies are generally used for actual dyeing.

In this case, interaction among the components depends on the total dyeing concentration and the mixing ratio of the components; consequently, the coefficient of the liquor ratio of each component varies. In order to determine the coefficient of the liquor ratio exactly, many basic data are required as in the case of the change in exhaustion for combination dyeing shown previously.

Kayacion E-CM dyes, which have a similar dependency on the liquor ratio and small interaction with each other, have similar values for the coefficient of the liquor ratio at a certain total dyeing concentration for every combination dyeing.

dyeing with Kayacion E-CM

Fig.-4 is an example of a graph for the coefficient of the liquor ratio, which was determined by using the liquor-ratio corresponding system of the COMET System.

[Fig.4] Liquor-ratio coefficient of Kayacion E-CM

This system enables one to determine the coefficient of the liquor ratio for optimal changing of the liquor ratio according to dyeing concentration and the amount of Glauber's salt.

Using Kayacion E-CM dyes, stable shades and strength are obtainable in different liquor ratios by multiplying the dye recipe by this coefficient.
