Senka is preparing sales of deepening agents for polyester black.
Senka is currently going ahead with preparations for the sale of black deepening agents for polyester fabric. This is in response to the worldwide increase in the number of dyeing firms taking up deep dyeing of polyester, mainly in Asia.
LANXESS increases production capacity for hexanediol by 15%.
The chemical company LANXESS of Germany will expand the production of 1, 6-hexanediol (HDO) by 15% at its Uerdingen site in Germany for the domestic and international market by the beginning of 2007.
Note): Hexanediol is used for high-grade paint resins, urethane, high-temperature-resistant polymers and adhesives, and is not required to be handled as dangerous cargo since it is not classified as a hazardous substance according to the European Directive (67/54/EEC).
3-D printing of saris in India with printing on polyester.
Printing for saris is growing in India. A printing firm recently carried out successful 3-D printing of flower patterns on polyester, and it is having good sales. The ground color is faint light blue. Lines expressing flower patterns (deep blue) are printed with a special agent with a 3-D shrinkage effect resulting in an elegant printed image.

352 companies apply as of end of November.
The 7th China Interdye will be held in Shanghai from April 17 to 19. It has been made clear that 352 companies had applied to exhibit as of the end of November 2006. From Japan, the application of Senka Group Shanghai Daxiang Chemical Industry has been confirmed.
There have been rumors of the possible participation of an agent manufacturer (Chinese affiliate) of Nippon Kayaku group, but its official application had not been submitted as of the end of November.

Flameproof standard for mattresses will come into effect in July in US.

As has already been in part reported, the flameproof standard for mattresses "FER1633" will come into effect from July 2007 in every state in the U.S. This new standard refers to California's flameproof standard "TB603."
Fire caused by smoking in bed has become a problem in the U.S. Poison gas is produced when urethane foam in mattresses catches fire. To prevent urethane foam contained in mattress from catching fire, the federal standard "FER 1633" prescribes covering the urethane foam with a flame resistant non woven material.
