Denim-style dyeing of wool “Denimool”

Sotoh was promoting "Denimool," denim-style dyeing of wool, and "Beauty Light W" durable luster finishing of wool at JC 2008 spring/summer.
"Denimool" is a special piece-dyeing method for wool fabric, which has made possible the surface dyeing of wool fiber in which the core of the yarn remains undyed.

By carrying out garment washing after sewing, a cotton-denim-like faded and washed-out look can be produced. It is suitable for finishing jeans-like products in preparation for autumn/winter utilizing the warmth that is a feature of wool.

Durable luster finishing of wool "Beauty Light W" can add a significant durable luster by chemically setting the shape of the wool, keeping the exposed part of the yarn surface of the fabric flat. With "Beauty Light W" the luster can last after washing and dry-cleaning, being different from conventional calender finishing. By adjusting the luster, it can be applied to casual sporty items, not just suits.

Price of sodium alginate-based thickeners is rising due to massive hike in Chinese raw materials

The price of sodium alginate-based thickeners for dyeing is rising in Japan. It is because demand for Chinese algin material is increasing despite a reduction in crop yields, especially for food and dyeing finishing applications, algin material is in great demand in China, resulting in fewer exports to Japan. According to one trader, the "Chinese side has indicated the possibility that the price of algin material for Japan might even go up."

(Note)= Sodium alginate-based thickeners can be used for dying including with disperse dye, reactive dye, metallized dye, direct dye and sulfide dye.
