Next-generation digital direct engraver "DLE"

Kurabo Electronics Division (2-4-31 Kyutaro-machi, Chuo-ku, Osaka) has started sales of its next-generation digital direct engraver "DLE" (Digital Light Engraver) which carries out plate-making by directly exposing an emulsion applied to the screen with ultraviolet without using ink wax. In parallel with this, special emulsions will be distributed as well. This device, made in collaboration with GST of Germany has the feature that it does not generate waste such as film, ink or wax.

Water based emulsions exclusively for DLE have already been developed in cooperation with Shin Nippon Process which is famous for high-quality screen printing, as aqueous emulsions that can be used in high-speed processing of DLE. According to a concerned party, the characteristic of this product is its higher sensitivity compared to conventional ones.
