Ink-jet printers attract attention at ITMA 2007, indicating considerable development in 4 years

What attracted attention in the printing area for textiles at ITMA 2007 (Munich) was ink-jet printers. The comments of people who checked over those machines are summed up in that they gave some indication of the possibilities for considerable development at ITMA 2011(Barcelona, Spain). A number of ink-jet printers were introduced at this ITMA Munich, and the characteristics of those machines fall into three categories.

(1) Reggiani, which had aimed to have an increase in speed and width, on the contrary demonstrated a willingness to improve the functions of the whole machine in a fine balance with subtle printing in a step-by-step system, having its faster and wider functions as a cornerstone.
(2) Machines falling into this category are Mona Lisa Type-M of Robustelli from Italy, Artistri 2030 of DuPont and Toshin Kogyo and Nassenger V MarkⅡTX of Konica Minolta, which showed considerable effort at this ITMA for improvements in output speed, broader width and finishing quality, unlike Reggiani which boldly aimed at higher-speed for large-size machines. Printers from various countries in competition with these machines were introduced at ITMA 2007 as well, but the functions of many of those printers were at the level of ones manufactured by Robustelli, DuPont, Toshin Kogyo and Konica Minolta up to 2005.
(3) Ink-jet printers for printing including for banners and T-shirts. In this category, machines from every country seemed to have reached full maturity.
