Murata Machinery establishes subsidiary in India

Murata Machinery will establish a local subsidiary "Murata Machinery India" in Delhi, India.  Murata Machinery is fully funding the establishment of this subsidiary (90%: Murata Machinery, Ltd. / 10%: Murata Parts Sales, Ltd.).  It has obtained approval for incorporation from the Indian government as of October 25, and will start full-scale operation from the end of November.

Following the liberalization of trade in 1991, Murata Machinery has had a strong presence in India with the sales of its main products like automatic winders, after-sales service and the sales of parts through local distributing agents and service agencies.  The sales steadily increased, reaching more than 10 billion yen in the Indian market in fiscal 2006.

Murata Machinery has decided to fully fund the establishment of a new subsidiary to further enhance its relationship with customers in India responding to a rapid increase of orders in the Indian market, providing high quality customer satisfaction and deepening marketing activity to reflect the needs of its customers in technical developments.

Murata Machinery India will be based in three places, north (Delhi), central (Mumbai) and south (Coimbatore), with 45 employees.
