Per-capita consumption of textiles is 15kg in China, close to that of Japan
|

According to PCI Fibers (UK), current per-capita consumption of textiles in
leading countries and regions around the world is 38kg in North America, 24kg
in Western Europe, 16 to 20kg in Japan, Korea and Taiwan, 15kg in China and 4kg
in India. It is worth noting that China has a close number to Japan. It indicates
that huge investment in infrastructure resulted in an expansion in the consumption
of textiles in areas such as geotextiles, automobiles and various types of construction,
as well as a part of domestically-produced textiles for export being counted
as domestic consumption.
