On 21st. November, The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China
published "China-KeQiao Textile Index" at the 2007 China (Shaoxing)
International Textile Expo. This is their first "Textile Index" , and
its purpose is to encourage the sound development of the textile market and textile
industry. The "China-KeQiao Textile Index" includes a textile price
index, a fabric market index, a textile export index and textile order index.
Among them, the textile price index is published every Monday, and the textile
market index on the first day of each month. The textile export index is also
published once a month.
The "China-KeQiao Textile Index" is worked out from China Textile
City in Shaoxing County, Zhejiang Province, whose data is based on 6 grey fabric
wholesale markets, Qianqing Textile Raw Material City, and some textile production
companies and textile exporting companies in Shaoxing County.
Textiles, materials and decorative articles in this sampling area are classified
into 5 large, 35 middle and 288 small categories referring to international and
other domestic standards, then, representative items are selected from the small
categories.
The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China said that the "China-KeQiao
Textile Index" can promote an effective operation for textile production
and sales, a balancing of demand and supply, and an optimization of the distribution
of resources, as well as provide the market with information on the China textile
market and textile industry in an exact and timely manner.
China Textile City includes more than 15,000 stores and more than 30,000 items
of clothing and home furnishing. The volume of business was around 50 billion
yen in 2006. |
