Toray develops polyester ultra microfiber fabrics
“uts-ultfino”

Toray has recently developed ultra microfiber fabrics "uts-ultfino".

It has advanced the existing "Seaisland type ultra microfiber "uts" and realized a very light feel, a technical luster, and smooth feel and a supple drapability by reducing the fiber diameter to tow thirds of that of existing fiber.

It will be placed on the ladies apparel market from 08 Autumn/Winter, and the sales target 5,000 hiki (1 hiki=50m) for the first year and 20,000 hiki in the 3 years after that.

By employing originally advanced spinning technology though "uts-ultfino" and "uts" are both "Seaisland" type ultra microfibers, the total and single fineness of the former is two thirds of that of the latter.

Accordingly, "uts-ultfino" has both very light feel, a smooth and delicate hand and supple drapability surpassing the existing "uts", by combining textile design making the best of this fiber and high grade finishing technologies.

According to Toray, the comparisons of new "uts-ultfino" and existing "uts" are as follows:
