Performance Fibers has entered into a multi-year agreement with Zhejiang GuXianDao Industrial Fiber Co., Ltd. in China to be its exclusive distributor of HMLS polyester (high-modulus and low-shrinkage polyester fiber yarn) for the Americas. It is explained that this agreement is to respond to an increasing demand in North, South and Central America for HMLS and standard industrial polyester fibers used in a wide range of applications, including engineered reinforcements, coated fabrics, billboards, webbings, tarpaulins, ropes, threads, fire hose and geotextiles.

Performance Fibers is a leading global manufacturer of industrial polyester filament fibers which has facilities in North America, China, Korea, France and Germany with 2,800 employees.

The company is an affiliated enterprise of the investment firm Sun Capital Partners, and has been globally active. In 2006, it acquired INVISTA's industrial polyester filament business in Germany, promoting facility expansion in Korea, Germany and China, and established a head office in Europe recently, but closed down a small industrial polyester filament factory in America acquired from Diolen in 2006.

Performance Fibers says that with this agreement with Zhejiang GuXianDao Industrial Fiber, it can have a full range of HMLS products which makes it possible for the company to provide cost effective products for its customers.
