DuPont's flame resistant material to protect against electric arc shock

DuPont recently released a new material, which is excellent in protecting against electric arc shock, as a new line of its flame resistant material "Protera." This product meets performance requirements of NFPA 70E "Electrical Safety Requirements for Employee Workplaces" established and controlled by NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), and NESC (National Electric Safety Code).

The company presents two characteristics of the product, which are (1) that it is one of the most comfortable and lightest weight fabrics among fabrics compliant with NFPA 70E Category 2 on the market, and (2) that it complies with all categories set by NESC. The company said with these characteristics, electricians and utility workers would now be able to work in a more comfortable environment without sacrificing protection requirments.
