Danish middle-sized uniform maker Mascot International (H.O.: Silkeborg) has acquired over five hectares and opened a 15,000m² factory in Tan Truong Industrial Park in Vietnam's Hai Duong province. The amount of investment is $10 million. The company will employ 650 people when it is fully operational. With the new factory the company will be able to bring together raw material storage, specialty goods production and the nearly quilt factory.

Sales, stock control and all administrative functions will remain in the head office in Denmark.

The company said that the reason for entering Vietnam was its low labor cost and mentioned the possibility of expanding the factory to a 1,700-employee level.

Mascot International is a uniform manufacturer engaged in design, production and distribution of over 1,200 items. The company has been promoting its sales in Western Europe and Scandinavia with production bases in Eastern Europe and East Asia. It is a private company with 170 staff in the Silkeborg head office.
