China's dye processing in 2007 was 49.018 billion meters (8.3% up over the previous year). Zhejiang leads the list with 26.82 billion meters (18.4% up over the previous year) and the second place is Jiangsu with 5.37 billion meters (10.4% down over the previous year). Taihu's contamination issue resulted in a drastic decrease in dye processing in Jiangsu. Jiangsu was followed by Shandong with 4.569 billion meters (10.6% up), Guangdong with 4.345 billion meters (35.3 % up), Fujian with 3.038 billion meters (3.9% up), Hebei with 1.391 billion meters (28.0% up), Henan with 1.185 billion meters (18.5% up), Sichuan with 0.448 billion meters (34.5% up), Liaoning with 0.351 billion meters (23.9% down) and Shanghai city with 0.226 billion meters (16.9% down).
