AIST succeeds in realization of integrated 3D CNT device

The Nanotube Research Center of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) has succeeded in the realization of an integrated 3D CNT device using single-wall carbon nanotube (CNT). With the development of the "carbon nantotube wafer (CNT wafer)," with high-density and well-aligned aggregate of CNT, it succeeded in producing a designed CNT device in large numbers. As an illustration, it has successfully accumulated more than 1,000 CNT device architectures with complicated 3D geometry on a substrate by controlling position and shape freely. Additionally, it has succeeded in electrically driving of CNT device architectures, coming much closer to practical applications of CNT devices.
