Sakai Ovex has developed a sebum-controlling water-absorbent SR finish, “SManyGard
Se.”It is hard to wash out sebum stuck tight on clothes with perspiration
by laundering.Additionally, it causes yellowing, being oxidized as time advances.“SManyGard
Se" is a water-absorbent SR finish that makes it easier to wash out oleic
acid which is a main element of sebum, and it can maintain SR properties and
water absorbing performance even after 20 launderings. The following are an evaluation
of its performance.
1. SR property of “SManyGard Se”
▽Evaluation method:
(1) Put a drop of oleic acid solution 0.02mL on fabric and
after letting it stand for 1 hour, wash it with [JIS L 0217103 method] to evaluate.
(2) Process (1)’s fabric under hot and humid conditions
[70℃x95%R.H.]
for 2 days to evaluate.
* If there is any oleic acid left on the fabric, it will be oxidized, causing
yellowing.
