Gap of U.S. reports 18% year-on-year decline in 2008 March sales |

The apparel products of the US are experiencing a sharp drop in retail sales. The sales of Gap in March 2008 declined by 18% compared with the same month last year. Other apparel retail sales dropped across the board as well. On the other hand, the sales of Walmart in the same month increased though only slightly, by o.7 %.
It shows a trend in that the center of consumption is shifting to low-priced products. |
