According to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), almost 5,000 files have been submitted in the first week of REACH pre-registration since operations started on June 1.

ECHA has started full-scale operation after almost 1 year of preparation, and on June 1, it launched the portal site of REACH, "REACH-IT" (https://reach-it.echa.europa.eu/reach/public/welcome.faces) and started to accept pre-registrations and other data submissions from the industry.

It only had a few staff at the start, but now has 200 employees, and the Management Board, the Forum on REACH enforcement and the three scientific committees (Risk Assessment Committee, Socio-economic Analysis Committee and Member State Committee) have been established.
