Teijin announced on June 12 that it would establish a development base for carbon fiber composite materials, in Shizuoka. It will make GH Craft Ltd. (Gotenba, Shizuoka) , designer and manufacturer of composite materials a subsidiary and establish "Composite material Innovation Center" (tentative name) on the premises of GH Craft in July. The center will enable Teijin to work in close collaboration with automotive manufacturers, mainly in developing automotive parts using carbon fiber, as well as to develop applications for aramid fibers.
