India's Bombay Rayon Fashions Ltd. to acquire Guru brand of Italy

India's Bombay Rayon Fashions Ltd. will acquire the "Guru" brand and other related businesses from Jam Session Holdings of Italy. The purchasing value is 33 million euros.

Based in Mumbai, the company has been well known as a pioneer of the Indian textile industry for over 20 years. Its sales amounted to 4.9 billion rupees (for fiscal year ending March 2007) with a year-on-year sales growth rate of 146%, and it has 5,124 employees (as of March 2006).

The company exports all of its manufactured garments to Europe and the US, supplying to major brands like "TOM TAILOR" of Germany, "DKNY" and "LizClairborne" of the US.
