Global primary energy consumption increases by 2.4% in 2007

The UK's BP announced "the Statistical Review of World Energy 2008," its global energy statistics for 2008, on June 11. According to the statistics, global primary energy (the total of fuel, natural gas, coal, nuclear energy and hydroelectricity) grew by 2.4% from the previous year. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for one third of total consumption, increasing by 5% from the previous year. Even though the primary energy consumption of Japan decreased 0.9%, that of China increased by 7.7% in 2007. The following are the details of primary energy consumption for each region.
