Israel's NILIT to start production of nylon 66 in Suzhou, China

Israel's nylon 66 maker, NILIT, has completed the construction of nylon production facilities in Suzhou in Jiangsu province and started production. The total investment amounted to $8.5 million. This facility, which is the first production base established in China by the company, started yarn production by introducing the latest Barmag machines as the first step, but is planning to expand the production capability through employing spinning and false twist machinery.

By entering into China, NILIT expects to expand the supply especially to sewing firms exporting to Western apparel markets. The company has 6 plants in Israel and Europe, and distributes in 65 countries/regions. Its sales in 2007 amounted to approximately $400 million.
