The Mongolian government has put off the introduction of an export tax on greasy and scoured cashmere. This decision was made in light of the government's view that the introduction of the tax might favor some cashmere product manufacturers, but would only bring the adverse effect of raw cashmere price cutting for most of the cashmere sheep-farmers.
