Branch of Taiwan Textile Research Institute to start operations in Yunlin |

The Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI) opened its first branch in Doulu
in midwestern Yunlin County and started operations. This new branch is proposing
the following four important areas of activity this year, to revitalize, upgrade
competitiveness and stimulate the textile manufacturers (about 2,800 companies/
total annual sales of about $2.3 billion) in central and southern Taiwan.
- Providing support to textile manufacturers in central and southern Taiwan
to form industry clusters and strategic alliances
- Developing new environmental
protection technologies
- Creating new techniques for textile finishing
- Providing other technical
support
