Toray opens Advanced Materials Research Center in Korea University |

Toray opened the Advanced Materials Research Center in the Innovation Hall
of Korea University on July 14 as an overseas research base after the ones in
China and the US. Toray Group will build up a global research and development
system across Japan, Korea, China and the US through this center as a research
and development base in Korea.
The Advanced Materials Research Center established in Korea University will
undertake research in new areas like next-generation functional film, fuel batteries,
photovoltaic materials and nano materials, as well as enhance electronic information
material areas such as display materials, semiconductor-related materials and
electronic circuit materials which Toray's subsidiary Toray Saehan Inc. has been
working on. It is planning to expand the facility with more researchers.
(Note): Toray Saehan Inc. was established in October 1999, based in Seoul,
Korea, producing and distributing polyester filaments, non-woven fabrics, polyester
film, film products and PET chips.
