Wet-rubbing fastness improver for reactive dyeings

YNA945 for continuous, YKA955 and 977 for batch method

Expectation in wet-rubbing fastness improvers for reactive dyeings is growing globally, reflecting the recent market orientation towards higher quality goods.

Ipposha Oil Industries has developed YNA945, a wet-rubbing fastness improver for the continuous, reactive dyeing of weaves, and YKA955 with the adjuvant YKA977, for use in cotton knits which are generally treated in batches, such as in jet dyeing. Special consideration for exhaustion treatment has been granted in the development of YKA955 and YKA977.

Performance Evaluation

Performance of the wet-rubbing fastness improvers YNA945 (continuous method), YKA955 and YKA977 (batch method) was observed under the following conditions.

Colorfastness Test

    Conditions
    Dyeing (reactive)
    Reactive black dyestuff: 8% (o.w.f.)
    Glauber's salt calc: 50g/L
    Soda ash: 20g/L
    Liquor ratio: 1:15
    Temperature & time: 50°C x 60min

    Soaping (2 soapings)
    Bisnol AD: 2g/L
    Liquor ratio: 1:20
    Temperature & time: 90°C x 20min
    Recipe: Dyeing→Cold rinsing (5min overflow)→Warm rinsing, acid neutralization (50°C x 5min, 2ml/L acetic acid) →Warm rinsing (95°C x 10min) →Soaping →Warm rinsing (50°C x 10min) →Cold rinsing (5min)

    Padding (continuous)
Substrate: Non-mercerized cotton broad cloth, reactive-dyed under above conditions
Pad-treated with agent solutions in various concentrations
    Pick-up: 80% 1 dip, 1 nip
    Drying: 100°C x 2min

    Dipping (batch)
Substrate: Non-mercerized cotton knit cloth, reactive-dyed (under the above-stated conditions)
    Concentration: 3, 5, 10% (o.w.f.)
    Temperature & time: 50°C x 20min
*Competitor's product used after pH adjusted to 5
    Liquor ratio: 1:20
    Dehydration: Centrifugal
    Drying: 100°C x 30min
