Prevention of white-staining in nylon/polyurethane prints
Neoleve NYC-R, Emill NW-1570

As demand for nylon/polyurethane blends is increasing worldwide, trouble with white-staining is frequently caused.

The problem in the printing of nylon/polyurethane is white staining during soaping. Here is a method for preventing the problem.

Once white-staining is produced, removal is not easy, and because it does not allow high-temperature soaping, insufficient colorfastness will result. Therefore, thorough investigation for the selection of soaping agents, soaping processes and control temperatures will be vital in order to attain superior colorfastness without white-staining.

The following is a method Kotani recommends. The contents in the parenthesis below are recommended if necessary. Neoleve NYC -R is used in the first bath and soaping is carried out at a low temperature (the purpose is to prevent white-staining).

Emill NW-1570, which has potent washing properties, is used from the second bath onwards, with temperature raised gradually.

Finally, the use of Queenfix NY-158 in fixing will prove effective.
