Deep-dyeing agent
Kotani Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. has developed 4 items of the Polishing Oil series, deep-dyeing agents for textiles. The series of Polishing Oil includes Polishing Oil No. 96, Polishing Oil No. 78, Polishing Oil DP-1 and Polishing Oil CT-125. There is also Queenseter SI Super, another multi-purpose type besides Polishing Oil No. 96. The following is a description of their features.
Polishing Oil No. 96 is a multi-purpose type, particularly effective in deep-dyeing of polyester other than wool, nylon, acrylics or silk. It produces superior colorfastness to washing and soft hand.
Polishing Oil DP-1 and CT-125 are deep-dyeing auxiliaries for use in polyester.
Polishing Oil No. 78 produces deep-dyeing effects on silk, cotton and rayon, imparts water absorbency and does not cause any alteration in fabric hand.
In addition to the target fibers of Polishing Oil No. 96, Queenseter SI Super allows deep-dyeing of cotton and rayon, with softening effects superior to Polishing Oil No. 96.

1. Multi-purpose deep-dyeing agent
Polishing Oil No. 96
The use of Kotani's Polishing Oil No. 96 allows ideal deep-dyeing of polyester, nylon, wool, cotton and their blends and union fabrics. It also produces supreme luster on them.
Features
| 1) |
Gives significant bathochromic, deep-dyeing effects and unique, profound luster to all fiber materials from synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon, to cotton, wool and their blends. Equally, it produces superior color brightening effects on light, clear shades. |
| 2) |
Added bathochromic, deep-dyeing and brightening effects will have colorfastness to washing. The effect will not decline even after home laundering and dry cleaning. |
| 3) |
Gives smooth, soft hand as well as deepening or brightening effects. |
| 4) |
Superior colorfastness to rubbing, perspiration and light can be expected, and chalk marks and whitening will not occur. |
| 5) |
As neither pretreatment, pH adjustment or curing is required, good efficiency and performance stability are expected. |

As Polishing Oil No. 96 is an emulsion, storage at freezing or high temperatures should be avoided. In addition, its safety data sheet is also available.
Standard usage
 |
Polishing Oil No. 96 20-40g/L (room temperature)
| • |
The amount used should be adjusted according to the type of substrate and the degree of effect required. |
| • |
Pretreatment is not required. |
| • |
The pH of the treatment bath hardly affects performance, however, in consideration of the in-bath stability, adjustment of pH to neutral (6.0-7.5) is advised. |
| • |
In case of the simultaneous use of other chemicals, preliminary examination is require for any possible influences on compatibility, bathochromic effects and colorfastness. |
| • |
Though it is nonionic to weakly cationic, as level a mangle application as possible is advised to prevent unevenness. |
100°C -
| • |
No difference in bathochromic effects will be produced because of drying temperatures. |
| • |
Care is required to ensure as even drying as possible since partial drying will result in migration of Polishing Oil No. 96. |
| • |
Curing is not particularly required. |
| • |
No difference in bathochromic effects with or without curing. |

2. Deep-dyeing agent for cotton, rayon and silk
Polishing Oil No.78
- Produces superior deep-dyeing effects with durability, water-absorbency and soft hand.
Corrections can easily be made in case of faulty results.
- Imparts deepening and brightening effects to printed materials. Also effective for improvement of inadequate color yield.
- Polishing Oil No.96 is preferable for nylon, polyester, acrylics and wool.
