Software for automatic printing paste preparation

Calculation based on past records

The basic concept of the software for automatic color paste preparation is shown in Fig. 1.

Fig. 1 (Click for enlargement)

The software shown in Fig.-1 accurately pre-evaluates and calculates the optimum quantity of printing paste, according to data (printing area ratio, mesh) on the kind of screen (rotary or auto flat) suitable for the substrate used. Preparation of color paste is carried out promptly, based on the calculations.

Database, an important system function

Data analysis is possible including past records

Fig. 2 (Click for enlargement)

Fig.2 shows an important system function. It is a database compiled with various factors and past performance records. Factors contained in the database are of printing paste and performance data of major printing plants in the Far East, including Japan, which form grounds for possible reduction of loss on printing paste residue. To explain in detail; the database

1. evaluates influences of printing know-how reflected on conditions for color paste preparation and
2. contains a large number of factors concerning color paste, their composition and viscosity.

A vast volume of factors on printing can be collated with the accumulated performance data of major printing plants for further analysis and calculation. However, printing experts with long, practical experience may not immediately accept this new concept in theory. This software can provide computerized instructions as accurate and satisfactory as to convince experienced personnel, as it has been designed in respect to the idea of 'experience and learning as the wheels of a vehicle', as shown in Fig. 2.

Values from your own experience can be added to the database

What is more interesting is that values from your own experience can be added to the database, a convenient function that can expect appreciation from the work front. Optimum printing know-how can be attained as a result, since ideal color paste preparation will be made possible through accurate instructions based on prompt comparison, analysis and calculation of information provided by three different sources, the above-mentioned various factors on printing, the performance data of major printing plants and your own.
