Chlorine-resistant fixing agent

Danfix 5000, 7000 and PAA

Hardly any deterioration in light fastness and color alteration are the special features

Recently, interest in fixing agents superior in chlorine fastness and in defixing properties is growing among users not only in the domestic market but also in South East Asia and China.

Nittobo Specialty Chemicals Division recommends, for such needs, the use of Danfix 5000, 7000 and PAA (see Table).

Danfix 5000 is for use in reactive dyeing and produces, in addition to high chlorine fastness, good water absorbency and defixing properties.

Danfix 7000 and PAA are recommended for use in dip-dyeing of knits.

These fixing agents have been developed and put onto the market based on Nittobo’s know-how cultivated through years of research into water-soluble polycation.

Danfix considerably differs from other commercially-available chlorine fastness improvers in that it produces less deterioration in light fastness and causes hardly any color alteration.

Another key feature of Danfix is that it causes no deterioration in fastness not only in the initial stage but also after repeated washing.

Because of such advantages, it has been adopted by many major manufacturing plants in Japan, China and South East Asia.

The following are the description and features of Danfix 5000, 7000 and PAA recommended for chlorine-fast treatments, and directions for their use.

Directions for use

Full fixation effects can be attained in a dyed and well-rinsed material through treatment by the dipping or continuous method using a processing liquor with the concentration adjusted according to the kind of the dyestuff used and the expected depth of shade, followed simply by squeezing and drying.

Dipping method: Use 2-6% o.w.f. fixing agent and the liquor ratio of 1:15-20, treat in temperatures between 40°C and 60°C for 10-15 min, rinse and dry.

Continuous method: Pad a dyed material with 5-30g/L fixing agent dissolved in water, then squeeze and dry.
