A half of the earth, our home planet, consists of oxygen. Carbon, as the main ingredient of petroleum-based solvents, is only a minor constituent.
What does that make of those who are called cleaners, who make use of this carbon compounds as their bread and butter for cleaning garments around the clock, day in day out?
These ill-starred creatures, who sedulously grind away at cleaning and pressing whether it is a steaming hot summer night or a winter day, air thick with snow, don't escape from being subject to
severe public criticism.
The claims are that cleaning solvents invite global warming, abnormal weather and destroy the global environment.
'Clean-Life Vision 21' was held recently in Tokyo.
And finally, it has surfaced. There has arrived a silicon-type solvent.
A half of the earth consists of oxygen, and the other half, of silicon. There is every reason to use this silicon in good account. It is decamethyl cyclopenta siloxane, or D5 for short. I see in
the future of this solvent CAS-numbered [541-02-6] a ray of sunshine.
This substance should set us free from the fear of global warming. And how effective would this solvent be? Much is anticipated.
