Mechanisms

The mechanism of a weft straightener is shown in the figure below. *Configuration No.4

It consists of skew straightening units (skew roll), bow straightening units (bow roll), weft angle detection units (weft detector) and control units, which exercise precise control over weft straightening units based on signals from detectors. In addition, it has centering units that straighten out meandering in knits and weaves, expander rolls that smooth out fabric creases and a dancer roll that controls tension around the outlet of the machine.

1) Skew rolls

Mechanisms that straighten skews (oblique wefts) are shown in the figures below.

Triple skew roll type

Weft distortions (skews) in knits and weaves can be straightened by delivering fabric through two fixed rolls and a skew roll set at a distance and at an angle from each other, in the order of fixed roll, skew roll and further fixed roll.

Seiren Electronics' DM-SVW II has types with three skew rolls installed.

2) Bow rolls

Mechanisms that straighten bows (bow-shape weft distortion) are shown in the figures below.

Bows can be straightened by delivering fabric through two fixed rolls and a bow roll (made with rubber) set at a distance from each other with the bow roll curves adjusted, in the order of fixed roll, bow roll and further fixed roll.

Seiren Electronics' DM-SVW II series has two bow rolls installed.
