Importance of skew correction in functional finishing.

4. Mechanism.

The mechanism of the automatic weft straightener is generally called the roll system.

The contents are;
*skew correction mechanism which uses skew correction rollers.
*bow correction mechanism which uses bow correction rollers.
*weft angle detector (weft detection)
*control parts to effect precise control of the correcting mechanism according to detected signals.

Also, a centering device to correct zigzag running of the fabric and expanding rollers to stretch out any creases that occur, a dancing roller controls fabric tension at the exit of the machine.(Fig-3)

(1) Skew correcting rollers.

Fig-4 shows the mechanism to correct skewed parts of weft distortion.

*2 fixed rollers and 1 skew correcting roller are positioned at appropriated distances.

If fabric that has skew distortion is run through the skew correcting roller and the fixed rollers that are set at an appropriate angle, skew distortion will be straightened.

(2) Bow correcting rollers.

Fig-5 shows the mechanism that straightens bow distortion of weft.

*2 fixed rollers and 1 rubber bow correcting roller are positioned at appropriate distances.

If fabric that has bow distortion is run through the fixed rollers and the bow correction roller, bow distortion will be straightened.
