14) Toshin Kogyo to exhibit high-performance inkjet at ITMA in association with DuPont
Kazuhiko Sasaki, president of Senshoku Keizai Shimbun

Toshin Kogyo Co., Ltd. will exhibit at ITMA 2003, to be held in Birmingham, UK, October 22-29. It has secured a booth for exhibition in association with DuPont Ink Jet and will present an inkjet printing system along with a number of printed samples.

Proprietary piezo head: 16 heads loaded on 2 axes (8 each)

Ichinose 2020

Toshin Kogyo will be exhibiting Ichinose 2020, a high-quality inkjet printing machine that operates at a high speed of 30m2/h, at a demonstration at ITMA. The printing heads adopted are a proprietary piezo type, eight heads have been loaded onto each of its two axes.

Toshin Kogyo's ITMA demonstrations will include Artistri, color management software developed by DuPont Ink Jet.

DuPont's special pigment-based inks, as well as acid, reactive and disperse-dye-based inks will also be presented.

Toshin and DuPont reach agreement in allocation of global sales roles

S. Ichinose, president of Toshin Kogyo, has revealed that the firm has reached agreement with DuPont on global sales activities for the inkjet printing machine.

'Toshin Kogyo and DuPont Ink Jet will be allocating roles in the sale of the inkjet printing machine worldwide, for mutual harmony and benefits. This will be made public at the ITMA 2003 venue. We will be in charge of sales in the Far East, including Japan, using the trade name Ichinose 2020. DuPont Ink Jet will conduct sales in Europe, the Americas, their peripheral areas and South East Asia, using the trade name DuPont 2020. Inks will be sold under the name of Artistri Inks by both parties.'

Note: Ichinose 2020, to be exhibited at ITMA, has a resolution of 600 x 540dpi and a maximum operation speed of 30m2/h. Presentation of other specifications, including 720 x 720dpi, according to the color scheme and the motif is also under review.

Focus to be placed on printing mechanism and effect of inks
Spectacular comparison with other competitors expected

Printing mechanisms, speed, ink color development and fastness as well as effects on fabric hand will be comprehensively compared between inkjet printing machines exhibited at ITMA 2003.

With regard to this point, the allied exhibition of Toshin Kogyo and DuPont will be a focus of attention. It will be another point of interest how Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. is to demonstrate the effect of its new pigment-based inks. And how other exhibitors, too, are to bring out their own features will be a great spectacle at this ITMA exhibition.
