Self-adhesive color chips prevent errors of color

What was your reason for developing SCOTDIC FAN Cotton 2300? |
| Onaka: |
Up until now, it has been generally believed that in order to communicate a color accurately, use of the SCOTDIC color number was satisfactory. If the other party had one of the original SCOTDIC books,
they would only have to look up the color number in order to know the required color. However, trouble would arise if the receiving party didn't have a SCOTDIC book, and it was in order to solve this
problem that SCOTDIC FAN Cotton was developed.
The SCOTDIC FAN Cotton 2300 contains dyed cloth chips for 2300 different colors. While the chips are made from cotton, they can also be used for color measurement in dyeing polyester. The biggest advantage
is that even if the other party does not have the SCOTDIC FAN Cotton 2300, simply removing the cloth color chip from the color chart and sending it allows the required color to be communicated accurately.
This is a new departure. |

| TI: |
Isn't the chip damaged when you take it off the color chart? |
| Onaka: |
Chips can be peeled of the chart easily and cleanly. It is because of the adhesive that is used in fixing the chips to the chart that the chips can be removed cleanly. While the use of another type
of adhesive might lead to damage, that is not a problem in our product.
Why don't we have a try? What do you think? Can you see how easily and cleanly the chips can be peeled off? |
 |
| TI: |
What happens when there are spaces left in the chart where certain color chips have been used up? What plans are there for replacement color chips? |
| Onaka: |
Replacement color chips are readily available. |
SCOTDIC FAN ideal for communicating color between Japan and China
| Onaka: |
Recently, Japanese textile firms and apparel designers have been outsourcing a great deal of dyeing to Chinese factories.
As Japanese dyeing technicians have recently pointed out, a large problem with dyeing in China is that the color produced is often not the same as the one specified due to differences in water quality.
Furthermore, because a large number of dyeing factories use reactive dyes of inferior quality, there are many reports of differences between the specified and produced colors.
The way in which Japanese firms specify a required color has also been a cause of concern.
Color on paper or plastic can be used to specify color, but the color produced in textile dyeing will not be the same as that on paper or plastic. Chinese factories have also raised objections on this
point, and so paper or plastic color samples do not offer a solution to the problem. As we all know, the color measurement involved in dyeing a textile the same color as that of a paper or plastic color
sample requires much experience and effort.
Through the use of SCOTDIC color chips, measuring a specified color becomes much easier. This is a major advantage and should be emphasized to Japanese textile firms and apparel designers.

Because the original SCOTDIC books are expensive, it has been difficult to ask that all Chinese textile factories purchase one. But the new SCOTDIC FAN Cotton 2300 is inexpensive and easy for Japanese
textile firms and apparel manufacturers to use. The advantage is that to accurately communicate the color of an order to a Chinese firm, one simply sends them the corresponding cloth color chip. Your
company has considered the situation well, Mr Onaka. |
